BUT THE ARTIST HAS TO GO!
As loathe as I am to DeOscarize the living, Olivia DeHavilland being the exception I must take issue with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for awarding THE ARTIST, Best Picture 2011. A SILENT, BLACK and WHITE film gets the Academy Award for Best Picture 2011. One of the worst Box Office grosses of any Best Picture in the Academy’s history. There were so many more deserving films in 2011. I am positive that, twenty years from now, we’d be DeOscarizing The Artist so we might as well do it now. Go to Deoscarize.wordpress.com right now to try and stop me from DeOscarizing the Artist. Or come and suggest a film that would be the NEW Best Picture 2011. So many films to choose from but only one dog!
